If you would like to be part of the ‘No TPP’ Protest on President’s Day, please read on for details.
The protest will take place in the desert and this topic is hot.
President Obama is hosting leaders from throughout southeast Asia in southern California to talk, in part, about how to finalize and expand the Trans-Pacific Partnership — a corporate trade deal for which the ink isn’t even dry and Congress hasn’t even voted. We need your help delivering the message that California and the world are “United Against the TPP!”
Coming less than two weeks after the TPP’s anticipated signing, the first-ever U.S.-hosted Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit is taking place at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, California, on February 15 and 16. Given heightened security measures around the summit, we’re still working out the exact logistics for our protest — but please anticipate it taking place in Rancho Mirage on the morning of Monday, February 15th (which happens to be a federal holiday).
Join CALIFORNIA & THE WORLD UNITED AGAINST THE TPP Protest During President Obama’s Trade Summit in Southern California.
Please RSVP to receive the final protest details, and if you’re interested in carpools leaving from Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Riverside and San Diego. For more info, contact Lua Masumi of Citizens Trade Campaign at firstname.lastname@example.org or (213) 260-1636. Take your 420nurse hat in your bag and be prepared to ‘Flash Brand’ when the cameras start rolling. We are there to make a statement, not start one.
