Memorial Day, originally Decoration Day, is a federal holiday in the United States made to remember the men and women who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. Cities and towns across the United States host Memorial Day parades each year, often incorporating military personnel and members of veterans’ organizations. Some of the largest parades take place in Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. Americans also observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries and memorials to remember those loved ones that have passed in honor of our country. On a less somber note, many people throw parties and barbecues on the holiday, perhaps because it unofficially marks the beginning of summer, or maybe some people just like to celebrate and honor the lives of those who have fought for our country rather than mourn their absence.
Whatever the case, 420nurses wants to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend, and on memorial day to, even if just for a second, honor those we wish to remember who have fought hard to make sure we have our freedoms! Make a toast, smoke a joint, say a prayer, however you like to celebrate, lets do it for those who deserved to be remembered on this holiday weekend!
