7 years after they first began testing, the Czech company, Carun UK, is UK’s first ever cannabis pharmacy and set to open this week in the genteel south-west London neighbourhood of Twickenham. Promising a range of hemp treatments along with beauty and health products, the owners are insisting that none of the ointments, oils and creams can get you high.
Instead, they’ve stated the products can be used to treat a range of skin conditions including rashes, allergies, psoriasis and eczema. The beauty products are made from active cannabis extracts which can also be used to treat skin conditions like acne, rashes and scars. All products contain only around 0.3 per cent of the psychoactive ingredient THC – while marijuana holds around 20-30 per cent of the stimulant.
Carun Hemp based products can be purchased in United Kingdom and European Union through direct distributors and resellers. In the UK, Carun will be the only producer that manufactures medical products from botanical species of Cannabis sativa. Thanks to the effective action of cannabinoids such as cannabinol, the products are said to be much more intense than regular commercially available cosmetics.
Also offering foods like Virgin Hemp Oil, Hemp pasta, hemp leaves, all our products are completely safe, suitable for pregnant women and children. None of the products were tested on animals and animal ingredients are not used in them, so they are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
This is a huge step in the right direction for the future of UK’s cannabis culture! So while this may not be the kind of pharmacy some were hoping for, bear in mind that this is the actual first of its kind in the UK. This is just the start of what could be a very interesting road indeed.
